The Robot Will Serve You Now

At Springwell, we're always exploring ways to use technology to help improve the lives of our residents. It frees up staff so they can focus on one-on-one personal attention, and the technology is a lot of fun, too!

In our dining area, residents enjoy seeing a new robot whirl around the room, helping staff deliver meals and clear tables. The socially assistive technology that we introduced with Culinary Services Group allows the dining crew to focus on the residents' needs and represents the future of delivering services during meal time.

We're also experimenting with a virtual reality headset that takes residents, particularly those in our Assisted Living & Memory Care, on wonderful trips to favorite destinations, such as the Old Wall in Jerusalem. "I saw the Old City and the Old Wall," resident Audrey Levine remarked after taking off the headset. "The whole view was wonderful, I was looking to the left and the right and it brought back wonderful memories.

"I thought I was there," she said. "I was pleasantly surprised to see how it showed Israel and Jerusalem. It warmed my heart and I loved it.
