'The People at Springwell Inspire Me'
Whenever nurse Victoria Frimpong needs a little inspiration she finds it in the residents and her co-workers at Springwell. "Springwell is a very beautiful place and the residents are awesome, they appreciate every little thing you do for them, they really do," she said. Victoria started at Springwell in 2017 as a Certified Nursing Assistant/Certified Medication Technician, or CNA/CMT. Her work ethic quickly caught the eye of her supervisors who wanted to support her career growth.
She continued working while getting her LPN certification and now is a full-time licensed practical nurse, highly dedicated to the residents and Springwell. Originally from Ghana, Victoria grew up in Kumasi, the scenic and hilly capital city of the Ashanti Region located in southern Ghana. Known as the "Kingdom of gold," the region has a legacy of fine craftsmanship and strong cultural traditions. She studied accounting and economics in Ghana, started a business, and moved to the U.S. in 2017 with her husband and two boys. Her husband passed away in July of 2021 and she lives in Baltimore City with her sons, one a teenager and the other 23 years old. With all the talk about staffing shortages and workplace attributes, Victoria says Springwell is a special find for anyone working in healthcare and senior living. "When I completed the LPN program they opened their arms to me, they inspired me to succeed and everyone there has contributed to my success at Springwell," she said. "I like people who do their jobs and the aides I work with make my job easier because they know what they're doing and they do it well," she said. "Springwell's staff is like family, too. It's a good place to come to work every day." Just like her homeland, Victoria feels like she has found gold with the people of Springwell.
