Salvation Army Angel Tree Project returns to Springwell!

The Salvation Army Angel Tree Project returns to Springwell Senior Living Community for the second year. Last year the activity department decided to introduce the program to the community to see if there was an interest. Every single ‘angel’ was adopted from the tree and residents, staff and visitors, asked if it would be sponsored again in 2012; so it is back ……The Angel Tree Project serves the less fortunate of Baltimore City and Baltimore County. Last year, over 7,920 men, women and children received food, toys and clothing because of the generosity of individuals like those here at Springwell. The items collected filled over 5 large boxes which were delivered to the Salvation Army. Each gift was adorned with a candy cane ornament created by the residents during an activity.

The Angel Tree project allows for that personal touch that many individuals prefer, instead of just giving money (although funds of any amount are always appreciated if you are low on time). Each ‘angel’ has an identifying number (names are no longer attached to assure the confidentiality of the recipient) along with clothing sizes and suggestions for a toy that the child would enjoy receiving for the holiday.

Springwell will launch its program at the Family and Friends Pre-Thanksgiving Feast on Thursday, November 15th. Help a child have a good holiday by participating in this event.
