Our Garden Pavilion is Growing!
We like to say, “There’s something happening at Springwell” and while that’s true on a daily basis, it’s been particularly so over the last few months. On May 1st, our new (& drastically improved!) 2nd floor opened to Independent & Assisted Living residents. On May 15th, the Beechtree Dining Room served its first meal ever and it’s been offering 3 delicious & nutritious daily meals ever since. Less visible, but also important, workers have been busy over the past month installing a new “fob” system that offers greater convenience and security.
And this week we experienced another important community milestone at Springwell, with the first-stage expansion of our Gardens Pavilion Memory Care Program. This cozy neighborhood of 6 residences is located on the Terrace Level, just down the hall from the Terrace Grille. Under the day-to-day direction of Barbara Jones and her staff, it offers a friendly, caring and supportive setting for our residents who share the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease or other memory issues. It will operate in conjunction with and very similarly to the original Gardens Pavilion neighborhood on the 1st Floor.
Later this summer, we will start construction on the second-stage of the Gardens Pavilion expansion by breaking ground on a two-story, 3,000 square foot addition. Connecting to the west wing, this addition will provide for 3 new residences, larger activity areas and an elevator. It will also feature a Servery (a smaller version of what we now have in the Beechtree) and a beautiful new Dining Room for Gardens Pavilion residents. The common thread of all these improvements ties back to our mission of course – our goal of “…continuously elevating our reputation as a safe, warm & vibrant place for our residents to live, with consistently outstanding care & hospitality services …” So, thank you again for your patience in bearing with the occasional noise, dust and disruption that comes with it, but we hope you all share our excitement in the progress happening at Springwell!
