October is National Physical Therapy Month!

October 9, 2024

October is National Physical Therapy Month. Embracing the overall theme of physical therapy – Moving Forward – this year’s specific theme is Fit After Fifty.

Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants can help improve your quality of life by restoring and improving your ability to move.  In many cases, a physical therapist can work with you to manage or eliminate pain without medication and its related side effects. Physical therapy may even be an alternative to surgery, in many cases. A physical therapist will examine you and develop a plan of care using treatment techniques to promote your ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. If you are looking for an evidence-based, cost-effective, conservative approach to health care, then a physical therapist may be right for you. Physical therapists can get you moving and enjoying life again!

Many residents in our own Springwell Community have benefited from the skill and expertise offered by the therapists in the Wellness Center. Katie Rutledge, physical therapist, along with Jennifer Rill and Deena Farley, occupational therapists, and Natalie Norton, Exercise Physiologist/ Office Coordinator, assist residents in regaining their quality of life.  Next time you see one of our Wellness Center staff members let them know you appreciate their support.
