Independence Day festivities in Mt. Washington

The "Spirit of Mt. Washington" is an annual event that starts with a bagpipe introduction followed by posting of the colors and pledge of allegiance on the Springwell grounds. Resident Jerry Downs, a retired Marine Captain, lead the pledge. Resident Frieda Pertman, the Honorary Cenentarian lead the parade in a convertible. After the parade there were games and all kinds of treats on the Springwell grounds.  This is one of our favorite events each year!!
