Expanded Gardens Pavilion Opens To Rave Reviews!

It was a day that was in the making for months, and as Monday, July 1st arrived, everything was in order to welcome the first new resident to the newly expanded Gardens Pavilion. The terrace level and first floor areas were expanded, and many of the current living and activity areas will be remodeled to better accommodate the needs of the community.

Most notable is the large Gathering Room on the first floor. The room is surrounded on three sides by floor to ceiling windows allowing natural light to flood the room. The size of this room will permit all Garden residents to have their meals together. The room also has a 60 inch HD television that will be used for movies, sing-a-longs and other forms of entertainment. The patio was enlarged providing plenty of room for family and friends to visit, or residents to stretch their legs.

Some of the remodeled areas will be set-up as ‘life stations’ providing a familiar environment for the residents. Two such stations are the laundry room and executive office. These settings allow individuals with memory loss to engage in activities that were meaningful to them in their adult lives.

The addition of a dedicated elevator connects the two neighborhoods and makes it easy for residents (with the assistance of the nursing staff) to move  between the two levels for daily activities and meals. On the terrace level, three new resident rooms were added. There is also a living room area with a large screen TV and a working electric fireplace. A brand new patio with tables and chairs gives terrace level residents access to the outdoors without leaving their neighborhood.

Renovations will continue over the next few weeks, but when they are complete, there will be 13 residents in each neighborhood on the terrace and first floor levels. Grand Opening Tours will be scheduled to allow ALL Springwell residents and staff to see the newest additions to the Springwell Community. The date and time for these tours will be announced in the Springwell Spirit.
